Botswana Case Study (BCS): Introduction

After being named Africa’s most prosperous country in 2015 it is evident Botswana has made incredible progress since gaining independence from the United Kingdom in 1966. The peace engrained within the people of Botswana and the stability brought by its leaders and politics has shaped the Botswana of today and led to the various successes experienced within this flourishing nation. One of the major factors contributing to Botswana’s success has been the way in which Botswana has mended its international relations. Foreign Aid including the inflows of money, development projects, consistent grant and stimulus packages and their utilization by the Botswanan government have been instrumental to their development. Botswana has also been able to establish an education system which has yielded results proclaiming its status a regional leader. While its economy has faced many hardships it has still been able to maintain incredible growth rates which has made it an exemplary global standard amongst developing nations. Over the next few weeks, I will be releasing a Botswanan case study which will provide a multi -part series analyzing Botswana’s economy, foreign aid inflows and education system. I hope you enjoy and if you have any questions, comments, or further insights, feel free to comment or contact me!
